Sunday Yoga
I teach Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra in Paisley on Sunday mornings 9.30-11am. Spaces are very limited and advance booking is essential to secure your space.
Yin Yoga is a passive style of yoga where poses are mainly floor-based and held for 3-5 minutes. This allows gentle stress to be placed on the connective tissues surrounding the muscles. Yin Yoga is the best style of yoga to improve flexibility and to promote joint health. Each pose is also like a mini meditation meaning that Yin Yoga is also excellent for promoting relaxation. As I am also a Reiki practitioner, you get the added benefit of receiving some (optional) Reiki healing during your final relaxation pose at the end of class.
Yoga Nidra translates as 'yogic sleep' and is practiced lying down. Yes, that's right you just lie down, cover yourself in cosy blankets and allow my voice to guide you - absolute bliss! Yoga Nidra improves sleep, reduces anxiety, promotes creativity and also leaves you feeling energised and rejuvenated.

I teach in my in person classes at the beautiful Eastern Promise in Paisley, Renfrewshire. My classes are small and intimate to allow me to offer a high level of support to all of my students. Beginners are welcome to attend all of my classes, I give plenty of options and you do what feels best in your body. The pose is not the goal. Yoga is way more than just a physical practice. My classes honour yoga's roots and all elements of this ancient way of life.
I feel strongly about ensuring that my offerings are inclusive of everyone, regardless of whether you have ever practiced yoga before.
However, I often hear people saying that they are put off going to a 'regular' yoga class because they don't feel like they can do it. So, a few years ago I created a programme specifically for beginners and I led 10 students through it. Feedback was very positive, so I'm bringing it back!
Each week, I will introduce and breakdown some of the most common yoga postures as well as teaching you the basics of linking breath with movement (Vinyasa Yoga).
Most importantly, each week will be themed around one of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras to deepen your knowledge of the purpose of yoga and how you can take this into your life off the mat.
My hope is that everyone who participates in this programme will learn that yoga is for everyone. That it doesn't matter how fit/strong/flexible/insert other physical attribute you are, you can practice yoga.
